Max is an advisor and executive coach for leaders of charter management organizations and other education reform organizations. Previously, Max served as Head of Elementary Schools at Achievement First, where he oversaw a network of 16 elementary schools across three states — leading a response to Common Core that increased student mastery by 44% in Math and 31% in Reading over five years.

Max originally joined Uncommon Schools as the Founding Head of School at Leadership Prep Bedford Stuyvesant, where 100% of students scored 'Advanced' or 'Proficient' on the NYS Math Exam in the school's first year of testing.

A graduate of Yale College, Max is a graduate of the Building Excellent Schools Fellowship, the KIPP School Leadership Program, and the Aspen Institute-Pahara Fellowship.
